Excellent advice to an extent...
What I LOVE is playing sports (football/baseball/volleyball). However, as a slightly higher than average height (6'0) white guy with slighty better than average talent in all 3...the contract offers weren't flowing in. I have relegated myself to doing work that I believe in (electronic/communications security for DoD), but definitely don't love as a means to support my family. My perspective at this point in life is I really don't care what my job is, as long as my kids are well provided for.

I work for the last bastion/greatest example of a stupendously dysfunctional organizational structure in the Western World; a public university.
Between the chair, the hopelessly narcissistic faculty, the dean, provosts, vice-presidents and president, I have 20+ that I must appease. Even in the face of overwhelming evidence supporting my opinion, I have to find a way to have no care at all in what it is I am asked to do as long as I have a job and health care. This may turn out to be my hardest life lesson.
