Unless that guy had an Automatic weepon all those guns are safe and sound and the heirs will get them back. The POlice in this case were justified to pick them up in lieu of notifying the heirs. Twelve hundred guns can disappear from that guys home in a heart beat and be on the street in no time at tall.

But this guy does not hold the record, in 07, 5000 yes one guy had 5000 guns that sold over 10 auctions out in Pahrump, NV, that and 750,000 rounds of ammo. This guy never saw a gun that he did not like. It took a whole building to hold them all, rack upon rack.

That was a big story in the Ventura Star a few weeks ago when they finally located the missing woman in Oregon. Too weird. The guy also had $230k in cash at the house along with the guns and ammo. It will be interesting to see this thing play out.

Sounds like the confiscation was justified but not giving the stuff back after he got a clean bill of mental health was uncool. That's the issue - once they got your stuff, it appears it is really tough to get it back. If it isn't just government bureaucracy, I guess they don't want to be "that guy" who gave back guns to an individual who went postal anyway.
