New Daily Driver

Since December I have had an all expenses paid company car, in this case a 2015 Chrysler 200 V6 2wd that was actually a pretty decent driving car. A few weeks ago I was recruited for a new job off of LinkedIn, for what turned out to be a great opportunity. Long story short I started a great new gig two weeks ago but lost my free car, and my 15 MPG GT500 wasn't going to cut it long term. It was my good luck that I was able to coerce Sid's parents (porsche4life) into selling their 2013 Focus ST that they weren't driving. I've loved these cars since I drove one last year, everything about them is just fun. There's room in back for my three kids in back, a big trunk, and it gets an easy 30 MPG on the highway. Sid's parents kept this one in minty condition, and with about 7500 miles it even smells new. It's the top ST3 package with leather Recaros, nav, HIDs, keyless start, etc. Fantastic little car.

I absolutely love those cars. Nice score!

It's the only brand new car I've considered buying, other than one of the electric offerings.

I've been told that the new Fords are outstanding cars. Nice work, and thanks for posting that up. Now I want one.

Cool! I met up with a Pelican to give him some coupler bushings and his ST looks just like this.

Not a big Ford fan but I hear these are really cool modern not rods.

You really should go drive one. Excellent car. Well built, super fun to drive, and plenty of power. Only complaint is the crappy cup holder.

I liked the focus so much that I bought an escape for my DD. And my folks are looking at another ford to replace the ST.

Thanks guys! It's a great little car, and Performance Blue is definitely the best color. I seriously considered a number of other import options, but none of them checked as many boxes as the Ford. We'll see how long it hangs around, my dealership helps scratch my car ADD itch.

Your mom told me, "it gets 30 MPG, except when Sidney drives it".

They are really on a roll. My 2012 F150 is a fantastic truck that I chose over a Toyota. I've enjoyed the late model Mustangs that I've had, and we had a rental 2015 Mustang V6 last week. VERY nice car, and it drove nicely even in rental car spec.

I've never been one to drive conservatively.

I took it to autocross once, and even leaving the traction control on and driving at about 8/10 I was putting heat on a very well driven 996 C4S. With more seat time and no TC that car has a ton of potential at autocross.

So I'm guessing the "coercion" method used to get the car was a purple nurple?

Yes. Here I was, thinking it looked good in that red.

This too, you put some Rivals or RE-71s and brake pads on that thing, well, you know.

I like the seats. It gets good fuel economy too, if you can manage to not drive it like a 20 year old valet car parker. My integra was like that too.

Funny that was one of dad's complaints. He said they are hard to get in and out of... I say if he'd get those knee replacements he needs....

I like heavily bolstered sport seats, so I LOVE the Recaros in the Focus. My only complaint is the lack of bottom rake adjustment, it only adjusts for height and backrest angle.

Another sign that Ford gets it, you can option Recaros in the Focus ST, Fiesta ST, and Mustang.
