ATE Super Blue?!

Been searching Pelican for super blue. Doesn't carry it anymore, let alone anyone else. Did I miss something?!

Looks like it is still sold in Canada.

And still on eBay.

I'll sell ya most of a bottle!

I was planning on flushing the brake fluid on the Volvo and filling with the big bottle of ATE Super Blue I have but it seems a bit more than what's needed. Wish I still had a fun car to use it on.

How can you ban a fluid because it's blue!? Allot of organic compounds are naturally blue...

They want standardized fluid colors, so you can tell the source of fluid visually.

I had my daily driver (2002 TDI) in the shop for trans work, and the tech was insistent that the 'neon green' fluid was doing my braking system harm. I had to explain to the tech that I just flushed the system from old blue to the new clear, and that's the color that the old fluid left in the reservoirs.

Yep - the color of brake fluid is now a national priority. This from the same government that allows additives to our food supply like Red Dye #5 that causes behavioral problems in children and birth defects. That's okay. But don't you dare try to use the wrong color fluid in your car - VERBOTEN!

Idiocy.

That should be a government motorpool internal memo, not national regulations.
We should start a petition to put it on the ballot. If they can legalize the reefer, I want my blue brake fluid.

Anyone in Canada want to pick me up a few liters. Preferably the ones that live in a border city?

Super blue is really just a middle of the road brake fluid..... with a gimmick...It is blue...

It will stain your brake fluid reservoir... and only offers performance advantages over some off the shelf fluids you can get from FLAPS....

There are a dozen or more better brake fluids that you can use....

Brake fluid comparison

The purpose of using blue, is to see the color change when you flush your system. They made a fluid with yellow, or blue die, you alternate each flush.

My car had blue when I bought it, I put in the yellow, you could see the transition when you were pumping out the old fluid.

All I want to see when I flush my brake system is clean fluid coming out of the bleeders. If you completely empty the reservoir before starting and then fill it with new stuff and bleed, it doesn't take long to flush out the old stuff, even if it looks the same.

It's not rocket science.

I have some unopened cans of ATE Super Blue I might part with.
