Another female in my life........

Sorry guys there won't be any pictures. She's 12 years old and in need of a full time family. We (the SO and myself along with the current daughter living in the house) started the process today of fostering a very nice young lady who, by no deed of her own, has faced the challenges of losing her birth parents and then being split from a sibling when they were adopted only to have her adopted mother succumb to drugs and alcohol. She's a very polite child despite the rough life she has experienced so far, and is doing exceptionally well in school.
We've been discussing bringing her into our house/lives for a while and are aware of the challenges that may present themselves but the reward is worth the risk we've decided.

Thanks Joel, I'll keep it in mind.
I wish I could say that I knew what I was getting in to. I've already lost some sleep over it but my S.O. has raised two great girls on her own so I don't imagine I can be too much in their way.
I'm sure it's going to be a great adventure for all of us.

This poor girl is going to have to work through a load of issues from the loss of both parents, the separation from the sibling to the failure of the adoption.
Be prepared to have a lot of nights/days when you find yourself saying, "I don't understand."
She will need help, both from you and likely from professional counsellors.
