I just learned that a friend of my wife and I's was killed last night, and even though it is a long shot, I need your help. Here's the story:

Breaking News - Officer Killed
A Red Bluff Police officer was killed while pumping gas early this morning.
31 year old Officer Dave Mobilio was found shot to death at a Main Street gas station between 1:30a.m. and 2a.m. this morning.
Authorities say he'd been shot once in the head.
Mobilio was a 4 year veteran of the Red Bluff Police Department.
He was married with a young son.

Authorities are looking for a man as a possible witness to the shooting.
He's described as a white male in his 20's wearing a tan beanie-style hat. He may be driving a brown Olds sedan, with California tags - 3GNK307.
Anyone who was in the area or who may have information about the shooting - contact Red Bluff police at 530-527-3131.

Sorry about the OT nature, but I was devistated when I learned of this, and want the SOB that did this to pay.

I'm sitting here reading this as I just finished a double shift. Thats terrible news. when something like this happens, I take it personally. I know the Red Bluff Police Department will use all of its resources to get that ******* coward.

it bugs me when a young guy dies.. it bugs me more when a crook kills him.. and I can't deal with the horror of the 50 PO, and 90 FD that routinely die on the job each year

My dad is a retired cop, and he was shot in the chest (thank God for Kevlar) by some junkie scumbag back in '83 or '84. Needless to say, he was okay... I don't think the junkie walked away...

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. That really is awful and senseless. I'm sure a lot of people will be working very hard to find the person(s) who did it. I'll say a prayer for you & your friend's family. Hang in there....Sarah
