if this could be extrapolated to beef, all that methane currently produced would be eliminated

So this is progress?.... factory produced food, farmers out of work, livestock will go extinct with no demand, turn the farms into solar-panel fields to power the production of food.
But then they can make it in cute shapes, like mickeys & dinosaurs, so I'm in.... No matter, the way things are going it won't be PC to eat meat, we'll all be vegetarians. |

I think it's an unfortunate necessity.
we simply can't use natural farming methods and feed the planet. chemicals and artificial foods will become the sustenance of the masses while only the upper classes will enjoy natural foods.

I have zero issues with this concept. Don't get me wrong, I love our traditional protein options, but if we can add a low cost/high output option that can be rationalized I don't see any downside.

Meh, if it could taste the same, I don't see a problem with it.
I mean ethically, the slaughter of millions of animals for our own consumption isn't the nicest thing, so to eliminate that would be a step forward as a species. I'm a meatatarian. |

If "they" (whoever that is) can make a product that in a blind taste test is basically the same is taste and mouth feel as real meat, great. Next does it have the same nutrition values?
One thing for sure I don't want it manufactured in China. China is happy to sell dog food that will kill a dog in short order just to save a few dollars in the manufacturing process.

no thanks. and now i'm officially unafraid to die.
i think we (as a planet) just need to rethink food. it needs to me more local..ex. insane to fly garlic to sell here, when we grow it here. we need to eat much less meat. our kidneys hate the protein overload anyways. it makes little sense to spend resources to grow food for our food. shrink down the cattle industry. eat more goat? and bugs. i think bugs will be food of the future. there are millions of bugs and apparently they are great protein.

I see the future of chicken nuggets, and it isn't pressed meat.
