Nice pic, with the helmet I doubt you'd clear the hardtop.

I will be installing a supercharger kit on the car this winter, probably going w/ the Katana2 kit from Sector111. That should take care of the running out of steam issue on the straights. Also since I live at altitude it should help get full power from the engine, which I'm sure I don't get here at 4900+ feet.

Clay bar'd and waxed the Lotus yesterday, couldn't find a scratch on it.

I'd like to hear you compare the Elise to your old SC (or whatever 911 you currently drive)

Forget the supercharging idea and put a built K20/24 that will spin out to 9000 rpm!

The older I get, the less I appreciate needing to spin a motor hard in order to fully enjoy it. YMMV.

Your lotus looks terrific!

Beautiful piece of art. I doubt that my 6"2", 220 lbs ass would fit.

Nice to see the thread still goin...here's my updates:

-Lotus Stage 2 exhaust drone is horrible. It sounds great at first but after 30 minutes of driving you'll have a migrane, especially with a Sport pack car (which mine is) which has minimal sound insulation. So I am installing a Larini Sport exhaust next week which should still sound great hard on the throttle but not drone so bad at lower RPMs.

-I thought about doing a Supercharger, but the most popular one (BOE REV3000) will be about $7000 which is a lot to put into a $30K car IMO, not to mention it exceeds the HP/torque capacity of the clutch and gearbox at its' top end (can you say ticking time bomb?)...So I installed the TORQUE200NA ECU tune also from BOE which is flat amazing, the car revs with less resistance and much more power and the cam changeover is dropped to 5500, smoother idle, and pulls super hard from 6-9K RPMs compared to stock. Very happy with it and only about $900 invested.

So far I am loving the car. Looking forward to the track in the spring. I'm going to put it up on the lift soon to go thru everything...all fluids, filters, a few minor suspension upgrades, baffled oil pan (along with the Larini muffler). Waiting for the weather to turn bad as I'm still having tons of fun driving it around.

I didn't have the heart to badmouth the stage 2 muffler to ya, but that thing is annoying. I have the quieter larini muffler now and it strikes a great balance.

The basic non intercooled mp62 sc kits are pretty fast for about 4500 I guess it's the sector 111 katana and whatever the cheapest boe kit. I've ridden in these cars an I believe they would pull away from my factory 220 hp car

I meant of course that the car doesn't accelerate all that well once you get beyond about 80mph where the aero loads pick up

What's the big deal? Just don't shift. Less work!

Just do it. Bought my, Porsche as a 40th to myself. Love the color of that Lotus. Must be rare and it would look good on a track. Also, ac and power windows are future maintenance issues and added weight.
