John - thanks for the thread and for helping out this little one.

She's very beautiful and from the sound of it will be an excellent roommate and companion!

I have 2 outside kiddles and they are great company when I'm working in the yard or garage....

Congrats, I love cats, had them most of my life, many were strays since I lived in the country. Many would hang around a couple years then dissappear mysteriously or get hit by a car etc. I just got 2 kittens after not having cats for over 15 years. They were delivered by their mom who then dissappeared 2 days later, so they were raised by my friends family and they are the most fun cats, affectionate and fun. Always chasing each other around and doing goofy things. They let me 6 yr old son pick them up and rarely complain. So glad I got them!

Enjoy your new addition to the family!

Lucky cat - keep her. It can take awhile for old and new to adjust, and ours still occasionally hiss at each other (mostly Twiggy, who at 10 years old is the grande dame of the house). They'll be fine...

If there's no hissing on the second meeting, I'd say you're in the clear. Our three still mix it up, and the youngest has been here better than 5 years. All females, though....

PS, Have we met? Burgers n' Beer or similar?

Not sure, your screen name is familiar, but I haven't been to Burgers 'n Beer much.

Third not-quite meeting. I let New Kitty explore the main floor, Old Kitty entered the living room, New Kitty jumped up on a table and watched with some concern, Old Kitty walked around, strolled by the table, took no evident notice of New Kitty, and wandered off. So either Old Kitty is pretty oblivious, or she doesn't give a whit about New Kitty, or she is putting on the casual act and waiting for the moment to strike.

I've now opened the door to the family room and am letting New Kitty roam the house if she wants to.

'Grats on the new cat.

We recently got a new kitten, as well. Wife manages PetSmart and couldn't resist adopting this cat when it came in. 4 month old Main Coon and is already bigger than our adult cat--I think he's gonna be a big one. Super affectionate, playful kitten, trying to find his place in the home amongst the elder cat and our dog. The dog desperately wants to play with him, but the kitten's not too sure about that one, yet. Kitten tries to play with the adult cat, but he's a little stand-offish still. I was sitting in my living room the other day, and the old cat was sitting by the door telling me it wanted to go out. The kitten comes running out of my son's room, jumps, and lands right in front of the old cat in a "Let's play!" manner. Old cat simply hisses and the kitten just cocked his head and stared at him like "WTF, dude?" It was funny.

The older cat is warming up to him, now. A couple days ago, he licked his head as he was passing by, so that's a good sign.

we have a few indoor cats, in the beginning for every car I got my wife got a cat.

Any day now a new improved longer lasting plug in version of this Feliway Multi Cat should be available, they say results in a week.
Hope it works or else I'm about to have a new outdoor cat.
The website has several multi cat behavior tips.

We moved here from Oakland 10 yrs ago. I do some of the PCA events, and Cascade Sports Car Club too. The B'nB thing is a hassle to get to from the East side where we live, so I only go occasionally - but it is a nice group of people. Let me know if you're into track days @ PIR. I try to get to 6 or so a year.

Make sure to get another litterbox. That's been a territorial problem in our house. They say one per cat and one extra.
