wife, girlfriend, etc... like 'em smart or not

So, the person that you date or marry or have a long term relationship with, do you want them to be intelligent or not very intelligent or intelligence doesn't matter either way or...

I've tried both. Long term, dumb is not easy to live with. Short-term dumb is more fun.

But dumb people rarely know they are dumb, in fact it's the intelligent ones who have the wherewithal to realize they aren't geniuses.

Smart, because eventually you have to talk.

My wife is an incredibly insightful person, I respect her opinion more than anyone else on this planet.

Why does it have to be one or the other? I like them smart, self sufficient, and hot.

Didn't say it did. Some folks want them smart/intelligent. Some folks may actually want them not too smart. Some folks don't care either way. Some folks won't care about anything else other than how hot they are.

Attractive is important, certainly, but intelligent and/or mentally compatible is more important for me. I was lucky to get both.

If it's going to last more than a week, I need something upstairs. Dumb is a huge turn-off.

I like 'em all!!!

And I'm happy to do whatever necessary to make them feel like they are in charge.

Because - dumb or smart- that's the common emotional thread that ties them all together. Feeling like they're in charge.

My wife once asked me, ''If your mother, your wife, and your child were all drowning, which one would you save ?''.

I said, ''Baby, I'd save you all.''

She said, ''You can only save one.''

I said, ''Then I'd save the one closest to me, and then go back for the others.''.

She said, ''That's not the right answer.''.

I said, ''I gave you the right answer already.''.

She said, ''You can't rescue them all.''.

I said, ''You don't know me very well.''.

My wife is very smart. Define smart.

My smart wife earns 1/2 the family income. She negotiates multi-million dollar contracts. When I used to buy new cars from the dealers (internet/Costco pricing now), they'd talk to me, and more or less ignore her, until she'd negotiate on the price. They'd cry, while I walked outside with a cup of their cheap coffee.

Most that aren't smart, consider themselves smart and demand to take charge. That, your honor, is when the problems started

"My wife is an incredibly insightful person,..."
~~~~~~
That's it!
.
Smart? Hmm...
I like being with a woman who has a wholesome sense of herself and thus sensibility.
A woman who knows the ins and outs of how we humans relate to each other...but NOT defensive.
I've been with women who I consider smart (well read) and it was much better than otherwise.
