You guys need to get out more. Just because they do not care about YOUR car doesn't mean they don't care about cars. You may see a POS in every primered Civic with a fart can and coilovers, but that is a car guy. Our local cars and coffee is full of 20-somethings with a wide variety of cars.

(I'm the wrong person to ask abut economics)

As a young man I thought those porsches looked like ugly little small frogs.

Until I drove one of a friend's dad at 17.
Neat brand. Whatever.
3rd gear on a twisty dirt road.
Putzing along.
I should be 35mph.
He said "SLOW DOWN".
Speedometer read 65mph.

It depends upon whether memory exists.
But it's just a car.

Hmmm....you have me thinking now

The whole time I've had mine, I've never concerned myself with it's value as I figured I'd never sell, and have done a lot to her years ago in making her "mine" and 'cause I wanted too

Sometime back, the "brain trust" suggested it was a mid-30s car....so what would it take for me to let her go....right now, even 50 wouldn't tempt me....but,

I just don't don't drive her anymore (500 miles each of the last two years, 'bout the same this year too)....sad really, and the reasons vary, but mainly due to being unable to enjoy the country back roads like I used too.....TOO many cars and bicycles

It will never be pure $ that might tempt me (I'm not wired like that), but ??? F

Edited: sorry 'bout all the icons.....typing from a freakin' IPad, and I hate this damn thing....my laptop croaked...

Will the bubble burst on the vintage 911s? How much higher will these go? No way of telling but as they climb in value it sure does give a guy hope...
In the long haul, I would think you would have to be ahead if you bought a few years ago, and hang on. My feeling is that the market was suppressed during the recession. It may be getting silly now, but it won't really ever go back to what it was.

For that one guy reading this who is serious about picking up a 911, the market seems to drop a bit as winter hits, and you will see some cars come up at decent prices that maybe need a little this or that. You might think that the prices will get better if you wait until JANUARY, and therefore pass on a few cars earlier, but do not do that. If someone hasn't put up their car by Christmas, they will decide to wait it out.

I felt like I was getting priced out of the market, so I bought last fall, a solid car, set up for driving. Things happen for people who keep their eyes open.

Some guy was sniffing at my cars this spring. What a turd, looking to take me. My price went up for Flipper, and I wound up keeping my car.

If you bought Volkswagen stock last week, you would have profited by 25% in about five days. How do you know when to buy and when to sell ? When you know, You Know. When you don't, it isn't the time to do anything.

Think on it, and the answer will come to you.
