Making Kansas proud! What a dumbass. I agree with Rick, he should have his CCH revoked and never be allowed to carry a firearm again. Guns don't just "go off", and anyone who carries without a holster deserves to be shot. Thank God he didn't shoot anyone else.

Is training actually required for a CHL there?.

When i got my CHL in Oregon, no handgun training was required, just a couple hours' lecture on the law.

In my state it is and 8 hour day with lecture, written examination and shooting examination at a range to show proficiency. The examiners take it seriously.

Everyone seems to be hot on single action striker fired pistols with no safety these days. Minimal trigger travel, no holster, in a pocket with no safety . That sounds like a genius. He was lucky not to clip his femoral artery or his nads. Darwin award nominee?

In FL you have to have a holster to legally carry, and it can't be one of those loose ones that a gun will just fall out of. I have spent a fair amount of $$$ to legal, proper equipment.
