Telemarketer Calls To Callphone

Starting about a week ago, I am getting lots of telemarketer calls on my cellphone.

Ive added it to the do not call list, and am blocking each telemarketer number as the calls arrive.

Anything else to be done?

Write your congressman and senator.

The laws COULD be changed to have all the telephone companies put a stop to it.

The telemarketers don't want that and they hire good lobbyists.

Then may we can stop SPAM as well.

Just got one myself. I add these to a contact named "SPAM" and set it straight to VM.

My VM greeting is also the generic "You have reached ####, ###, ####. Leave a message."

Luckily, I don't get many to my cell phone. A few weeks ago I answered a local number that I didn't recognize. A male asked to speak to my daughter by name.

My reply was thus: "Dude, you had better have a good GD reason for wanting to talk to my 9 year old daughter". He apologized and hung up.

It turns out that we had filled out a couple of survey forms at a local store, one in my name and one in hers. Obviously, it was legit but still...

Just this evening while still in the office - I got a cell call from "computer support" from "Monticello, NY" asking how I was doing. Of course, this was an english speaker with a heavy, shall we say East Indian accent. I replied "I'm doing fine" and then simply asked "What web site do you want me to go to so you can load a virus, malware, or keylogger?"

He hung up immediately.
