Saw Page and Plant live. He totally sucked/was f***ed up on something.

My dad said the same thing seeing the ARMS concert for Ronnie Lane.

Would have LOVED to seen Zep circa '68-71.

Page liked the H.

Bill Graham had some choice words to say about the Zep.

My best friend's dad offered to drive us 125 miles to Dallas. He sat outside the venue in his car for 4hrs until we came out then drove us home. On Monday we still couldn't hear very much the teachers were saying. When You go from a simple record player to a live performance.... wow! Then he did it again 2 weeks later for the Who... $ 4.50 a ticket

Same here. I was -4 when they were in their prime, so I enjoy hearing these first hand experiences.
Like many here I caught Page and Plant twice in 95. My seats were horrible and the sound was bad, so they were not memorable shows (for the wrong reasons).

Caught him years later when he was with the Crows and that show was fantastic. He was in form, full of energy and if you closed your eyes, Chris Robinson made for a convincing Plant.
If anything, I think I would rather attend a lecture or seminar by him; I find many of his interviews fascinating; how a song came about, his early session years etc. He's crafted himself into this elder rock statesman that is pretty cool for an old guy. Really enjoyed him in It Might Get Loud. One of my favorite scenes from IMGL. How cool would it be to just hang out in his house going through his collection.

If the venue is right, I will probably check him out. I usually pass on opportunities to see the legends after a couple recent experiences (Stones were boring, Clapton is more Snailhand than Slowhand these days) but it would be cool to see Pagey again.

.

Thanks for the heads up, Stephanie. I'd love to see him if the price isn't outrageous and if this new band is getting good reviews... by the time they swing through the Southeast U.S., there should be a lot of buzz about them.

Don't know if anyone has seen this. This is Jimmy Page as a teen performing. At about 1:55 the host starts interviewing the kids. Interesting to see where he came from.

And for the parents on the college thread, this a great illustration of how plan b works just as well or better.
