Elissa Is Listed For A Lung Transplant
I guess it was several months ago that I posted after Elissa after she had a 87 day stay in the Hospital starting at 23rd of Dec. Time has made her a lot stronger... Lung function test up from 17 now @ 28, her weight from 99 now @ 115 lbs. She is ordered by her medical team to get even stronger and be more independent. She is still very sick and C.F. has taken a toll on her. A lung transplant is not a cure but a change in lifestyle. Never again can you go to a lake, Eat sushi , Eat at a buffet, Eat a rare steak or have fresh fruit.
A work up for transplant takes 3 to 4 months and visiting every medical specialist there is to get signed off on that there are no other medical issues. We had everything signed off and Tuesday we were approved by the Transplant Board......The only thing left was Her Insurance and we were just notified today, she is listed for transplant. Elissa took the call and the look on her face was a big smile. Elissa has a Facebook and now she has a Just Breath For Elissa page open to the public so she doesn't drag all of her friends down with her C.F. It does consume your life and it was her choice not to have everything in your life relating to your illness. There is a Video of my wife accessing her port (IV) @https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=just%20breathe%20for%20elissa Again thanks for the gifts and support.

All the best to you and your family. I worry every day still about my adult kids who are otherwise healthy. Helps me realize how blessed I am.

I remember texting her back around Christmas too. Glad to hear she's in good spirits and with hope on the horizon. Best to your family.

I like it when you post good news like this. I remember at Christmas feeling quite humble when I read your posts.
