That guy was great. He was probably in his 50's when I saw him. As a lad I was very frustrated to find the things that looked so easy when he did them were practically impossible.

I remember they came to Hawaii on tour. They came to my high school, Radford, HS to play our varsity team. Of course a bunch of HS kids had no chance against them. I was court-side as usual with camera in hand taking photos for the school. When they came to the bucket of water bit they headed right to me. I just new I was about to get wet and my camera ruined. Of course it was just confetti they threw on me. I was amazed they got to have a bucket of water in there, any student caught with a drink in the gym was in big trouble from the coach.

He was a master player and a great showman. Medowlark, not the the HS BB coach!

Loved the trotters on Wide World of Sports! I thought the whistling song they used really completed their vibe.

He was a true showman with great b-ball skills. Man he could talk some trash his mouth was going 100 mph it seemed through the entire game. They are a part of American history as far as I'm concerned. RIP brother

Yup, Sweet Georgia Brown, love this version, that guy could really whistle. My uncle used to sing this all the time. Two left feet but oh so sweet.

I bet is wasn't a blowout. They were classy enough to not murder the other team as a rule, I think. Could be wrong but to what end would that serve?

Curly Neal is still with us. 73.

Saw them in the Toledo Sports Arena late 60's or very early 70's.

RIP

Saw them when I was growing up in Norfolk - positive role models for kids - regardless of race.

RIP Meadowlark - you will be missed - and thanks for all you did for our youth!

I never liked basketball but I loved the Globetrotters.
Curly Neal and Meadowlark Lemon were half the show.
