What are your plans/resolutions for the New Year?
For us, it is to slow down. I'm 65 and wife is 61. We took a total of 6 days off last year. We have resolved to turn down new business projects no matter how promising they are, focus on ourselves, and start smelling the roses.

I've never believed in the whole "New" year thing. Life runs second to second. Not Jan 1 to Dec 31.
If you feel something needs to change, do it when you think of it. ![]() .

I agree with Vin but whatever works for someone is cool by me.
I've been working on improving myself for the last few months because it was time to do so.

I am a firm believer of New Years resolutions. Every January 1st I don't have to make new resolutions or renew old ones for another whole year!

Not get pi$$ed off at people who are making a genuine effort to pi$$ me off.
Be more understanding when other people's mistakes cause me problems, or waste my time. Cherish my good health, and work towards keeping it good since I'm in my '40s now.

I got lazy since I retired. I'm going to start exercising this year.

This year was different. I promised to myself that I will do what it takes to make a change. My wife and I are in our early 50's, married over 20 years, a son in college and daughter in HS. My parents are in their 80's and have consumed us. I have to make my wife a priority again, and we have to make OUR time together a priority again. Today I booked a diving trip - my wife's passion and my "ok it will be great" event. I will plan another mid year - just the wife and I. More early evening picnics on the beach with toes in the sand and Chardonnay in our glass. Watching the sun set. Yep. |

I don't make periodical resolutions, but this year, I am going to stop practicing flinty self denial, and finish some long started, and long needed projects around the house to make my life easier.
We are currently changing out kitchen counter tops and have added a dishwasher. My shop is now completely sorted out and in order, and starting to look like the man cave I want. My daughters place down the road from us is starting to resemble the home she wants, we have replaced the front door, added a new woodburner/chimney, and got her free hot tub up and running. I am in the process of selling 3 unreliable cars, and getting a nice F250, and either fixing my Porsche up, or replacing with something newer. My goal as this year progresses, is to spend less time working on all the crap I have and start to enjoy it. |

No resolutions, but now that I'm retired I can indulge myself in a long deferred endeavor...I'm going back to my alma mater to study music theory and composition.

1. Stay alive. Will be 70 this year.
2. Do 10,000 steps a day according to my Fitbit goal. 3. Fill my rented garage(month 3 of it being empty) with a Miata. 4. Get rid of more stuff. ![]() |
