Faraday Future concept

Have we discussed this company?

Interesting first concept:

BBC - Autos - Inside Faraday Future's amazing FFZERO1

They're based in SoCal. Website: Faraday Future

Nice video on their home page:

Looking at the BBC article, it looks like they're working on a "platform" that can be resized/reconfigured to fit various needs. Basically a flat chassis with 4 tires and 4 motors. This is the future as I see it: People/Companies will buy a low cost electric platform and customize it to their needs or desires. I see these being sold on Amazon.com one of these days. Not much of a driver's machine, but the possibilities are limitless.

(I don't mean to sound like a debbie downer fwiw. This is cool.)

Sounds a bit like the GM skateboard platform.
1980's patents are probably gone by now.

In 2004 with the advent of hybrid, I tried to patent a triple-rotor electric motor.
It used a variable flywheel between two sets of reaction surfaces.
It eliminated counter-torque for pure efficiency.
In disk form (the most torque-efficient configuration similar to a cheater bar), the motors were completely stackable.
Add more for more power wherever space allowed.
Remove the bad one from the stack easily.

A TON of hot air. We had a thread here previously. Read my comments on copy cat startups. And don't miss this jewel quote by aschen below.

Why are Tesla employees leaving?

Maybe the CEO also enjoys getting big Mics from Mcdowels

We work at Tesla and have been to 'that place'.

Tesla are PhD's.

Faraday is high school. At best. Their mule is Japanese vehicle that has been gutted.

They may have a better battery hidden away somewhere. They do not appear to have anything else.

Tesla is very advanced now and moving ahead quickly. Faraday seem to be left in the dust.

If you have been to both places there is no comparison at this time.
