Saw it a few weeks ago, a Cigar Lounge I go to had it on their Pizza night.
Not something that I would have paid to see, partly because of the points raised her, I'm not really into extreme violence flicks, there were no Porsches and after Sam L Jackson's comments on the Southern Cal shooting. The one redeeming quality was what happens to slj in the end.

I saw this last night with some friends... It has only just released here and the theater was almost empty.

Politics aside I loved it. True classic Tarantino. The cinematography and music were especially brilliant. Ennio Morricone did a fantastic job and he's 87 now.
You have to give QT his dues. He certainly knows how to craft a movie.

Towards the end it reminded me of Reservoir dogs. (Tim Roth getting a gut shot )

But the racist content and repeated slurs does gets tiring. Maybe Quentin should do something different for his 9th movie?

I think the racial slurs are the point of the movie. It is essentially a movie about racial hostility, that all plays out in a single room.

I hear Tarantino is good at his genre, but it's not a genre I care for.

I have a morbid interest ever since I saw the trailers...
Would have to say I also don't agree with Tarantino's political views.

And not a fan of gore but I like the Godfather series and even the Sopranos...

Tarantino movies are like Godzilla movies... I like them but go in knowing I need to suspend reality for a while.

Meh, I liked Pulp Fiction, but that was a long time ago.

His movies are pretty self indulgent. Since the cops are murderers BS, I have lost interest in that particular pseudo intellectual D bag.

I find it disturbing that ultra violence can become funny. We have become so desensitized to the torture and killing that we have gone full circle and find it amusing. Don't worry, I understand it. I just find it somewhat unsettling.

No wonder the less stable among us take up arms and indiscriminately kill strangers when things don't go their way.

I haven't seen the movie but have enjoyed Tarantino movies in the past. I think he could achieve the same story without the bloodletting but its his and his audience's choice.

I wholeheartedly agree.
It was 2 hours too long.
The first 45 minutes was in a carriage and the other 2+ hours was in one room. They never even get to the next town!!
Lengthy unnecessary dialogue, weird Tarantino narrator segment in the intro, shot in 70mm but didn't even really utilize it (would have been much better suited for Inglorious Bastards), just... boring. and I say this as someone who LOVES Tarantino films which is the most disappointing part.
My girlfriend fell asleep an hour in, and woke up around the 2 1/2 hour mark to look at me and say "They're STILL in the cabin?!".
I don't know, I was disappointing by this one. Felt more like a play then a movie, so if you're into that kind of thing you might like it but I was just bored.

It was Tarantino's homage to a French film called 8 women.

It was good. It was way better than jango

I can't think of a Tarantino film I hadn't liked until this one. I was kind of tired and left before the intermission right after the guns were thrown out. Seemed horrible. Too slow and uninteresting.
