Sugar Scoops Rule :)

You see the darndest things while walking in Cincinnati....what is this?
Out walking today during lunch, enjoying the balmy 45 degree sunny day, and on the way back to the office I saw a very interesting and puzzling sight. There was a dark blue truck parked on the corner of the sidewalk along the river next to Great American Ballpark with a satellite dish on top. I figured it was a news or sports vehicle, and since the sidewalk was caution-taped up around it I stepped into the curb to walk around it.
As I got closer, I noticed it had US Govt. plates, and as I walked by, the side door was open and there were US Army soldiers inside monitoring laptops and other monitors, in full cammo, along with another soldier standing outside at the front of the truck. Not wanting to be spread eagled out on the pavement with an M-16 at the back of my neck on my lunch break, I didn't ask what they were doing or take a cell phone picture (but I wanted to). What are they doing? The satellite dish was pointed across the river into KY, maybe at a 30 degree up angle. The truck had absolutely no markings on it. It's not like they were trying to be stealthy, as the road was open to traffic and they had the door to the truck open.

Try this as an explanation:
Digital Battlespace rss feed MUOS in new army test 13th January 2016 - 12:30 by the Shephard News Team During a test conducted on the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) satellite network, General Dynamics' AN/PRC-155 MUOS-Manpack Radio successfully provided voice and data communications with on-orbit MUOS satellites, it was announced on 12 January. The demonstration, conducted as part of US Army testing, will help determine if the MUOS waveform is ready for operational use. The test saw the AN/PRC-155 MUOS-Manpack radio run two terrestrial waveforms (the Soldier Radio Waveform and Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System waveform) along with the MUOS waveform. The PRC-155 MUOS-Manpack radio features a high-power amplifier and has the capacity to connect different waveforms and radios used by soldiers across a mission area. It receives a call from a tactical radio on one channel and retransmits the call to a satellite or tactical communications network using the second channel. Mike DiBiase, vice president and general manager, General Dynamics Mission Systems, said: 'As part of the Handheld, Manpack and Small Form Fit (HMS) family, the PRC-155 Manpack is the only army-fielded radio available to the US today. 'These radios connect the new MUOS network, bridging lower-tier tactical networks like the soldier radio waveform and SINCGARS radios to the big army network, reaching back to army personnel located in the most austere locations.'

The more important question is why do Cincinnati cop uniforms look like the old Jonathan Winters Good Humor Bar uniform?

![]() Believe it or not, two chiefs ago, Jim Craig (LAPD retired, now at Detroit PD) got rid of both the white shirts and the stupid hats. Craig went "home" to Deetroit and the mayor brought in the worst chief in Cincinnati history, two months before the mayor's term ended. That chief promptly brought back the stupid hats, but the shirts are still dark blue. |

So I went down to the same spot again this morning hoping that they would still be there (but figuring they would be gone)...and nothing....
but just so you don't think I'm totally crazy/paranoid.... https://www.northeastshooters.com/vbulletin/threads/227018-What-are-these-trucks and the truck looked similar to this, but was taller and didn't have the emergency lights on it.... Is this a US Gov Weather Radar Truck?
