That's about the only car I'd consider giving up my 993 to get (another one of). Sure wish I had fixed and kept my first one.

Someone posted a pastel-colored 2002 a few years ago. It was green, yellow, or maybe orange. That car was fokking hot. When I get into an older car again, it's going to be a 2002 or original mini bastard style.

Hey Mike,
I too would be interested in where you're taking the class. I know West Valley Occupational Center in Woodland Hills has a program but it's 5 days a week during the day and I'd never be able to do it. Damn career, it gets in the way of all my hobbies!

I'm taking the Auto Collision Repair and Painting class in the evenings, twice a week at El Camino Community College in Torrance. Mr. Rodriguez is my instructor, great guy. Lecture (sometimes) at 530-600 and then ~3-4 hours of hands-on shop time to work on your ride. The cost is $120 for the class and a $20/car shop fee for doing body work all semester and another $20/car when you shoot the color on it. I'm on my 2nd semester now (will most likely need a third). Learning alot!

Here's mine. Fun cars, very popular with other drivers, big time attention getter. The unpleasant surprise was how easily they rust, might as well have bought an Alfa GTV instead if I'd known. On the plus side, parts are definitely cheaper than 911 stuff... unfortunately those are not really "worth" restoring, financially speaking, but I'm having fun nevertheless...

Converted from carb to EFI, 4 to 5 speed box, rear brakes to discs, bigger better Radiator.. Still a lot of cosmetics to do...

Thanks for the info Mike! Getting to Torrence at 5:30 may be challenging. I guess I'll have to stick to the Welding class I'm taking on the weekends at Glendale College. BTW, you car is looking GREAT! I can't wait to see it when it's done!

Take care,
Michael

I assume that's 5:30 PM? This isn't clear.

Michael: Yup, 530pm is a bit harsh, traffic-wise. I took a TIG welding class at El Cam a few semesters back, excellent class. I can't wait to see it when it's finished either!

Deschodt: Looks good, cosmetically, to me!

Very nice, the flared 2002s and 3.0 CSLs are some of my favorite bimmers.

Finally painted it last wednesday at school.....that was a long process!! Need to color-sand & buff now, then reassembly.

Bodywork is really straight...blocked it 3 times. Thanks to Porsche962 for the color code/recipe!

It's funny. When I saw this thread, I was sort of,"Ho Hum. Another 2002. Hmm fender flares. That's nice."

Then you posted that pic with the final color.
Damn!
I guess I'm a sucker for blue hot rods.

Good work.
