If I lived in town I imagine I could, but its 20 minutes at 60mph to the closest town by car, my tractor doesn't even do 20mph. Also it doesn't have highway radials, so I'd likely go through expensive tires ($2k worth) in just a couple of seasons.
I only do a couple of my neighbors driveways.

I remember a friend of mine that went to medical school back east and here in Oklahoma. When she graduated she wanted to move away from the snow belt. She claims she get in the car and headed south and stopped at big box hardware stores. She would ask if they sold snow blowers. If they said yes, she kept driving south. When they answered "A what" she figured that was far enough. She lives in Charleston, SC now.

nice setup

the plastic shovel works for me, until it hooks an ice patch. I then pull out of the old metal flat shovel. Slow going but it works. Sad times, I pulled the snowblower out of the shed last week for this weekend. I hope that means I wont use it.

I've been using a good push broom for everything under 8-inches.

I'd rather broom once an hour than wait too long and have to shovel over a foot with a shovel.

I've broken one broom already, but the spare is a much better design and is holding up well.

The aluminum will catch on the sidewalk. My plastic one had an aluminum edge riveted to it. I drilled out the rivets and removed the edge. 1000x better. The plastic slowly wears out, but it will last a long time before it needs replacement.

I should have studied harder in school.... oh well

Assuming the storm gets to be too much for the shovel:

Sounds like a good plan, I am so sick and tired, of being sick and tired during the Winters in Northern Ohio....weeks on end without seeing the sun, constant temps under 20 degrees, enough snow to make the commute hell, but not enough for Winter sports. From December through March, I have a permanent grimmace on my face from the battering winds, subzero temps, and slippery conditions.

I really think I will be looking to migrate South about 500 miles when retirement time arrives.

OP: I love that you took the time to annotate the photo. It's also a relief to know that I'm not the only person who buys something, inspects the craftsmanship and anticipates where/how issues will arise.

Thing is none of winter stuff bugs me and I have stayed down south, several times, sometimes for months....totally frick'in bored me to death.
What are you going to do? Play bingo with all the miserable old farts?

Sorry, but I look for the positive, I built myself a heated shop, I have family and friends here, hobbies, sports, toys...

One thing I do see about the majority of posters on this thread (or any thread like this), who seems perfectly happy with winter, are the ones who made the decision to live in the country.
But then it seems like large number of this group and car hobby are country boys.

BTW nothing wrong with the south, home is where the heart is, just never assume all of us northern boys want to live there.
