Is your webcam publicly accessible?
Internet of Things security is so bad, there
Astonishing lack of security in consumer webcams, which I'd think is replicated in other categories of internet-connected consumer products.

Get off my lawn!
|
I have two cameras as part of my home security system. One of the front porch, one on the driveway. Nothing inside. I will not have a camera online inside.
The cameras I have are only accessible from the security system app with a password. I don't doubt a good hacker could get in. It will show my driveway and porch only.

Hmm... So maybe that security camera in the bedroom wasn't a good idea...

Yes, well it was until the budget for it went buh-bye. Had several set up in our teaching zoo ... UF recently got a grant for some animal observation so they are coming back... gotta love partnerships
