Ford Fusion Rental - quite impressed!

We flew into Sacramento to spend some time in Napa. The rental guy says, let me see what I have. We ended up with a 2016 Ford Fusion. I'm not really a 4 door sedan guy in my day to day life but I'm really impressed with this car. Very nice interior, super quiet at 80 mph, handles reasonably well, ecoboost engine has plenty of pep. Glad I own Ford in my portfolio.

I had one too as a rental about three yrs. ago and really liked it except for the blind spot around the A-pillar. Last time I had ridden in one previously was about 2009 in China and, while I liked it a lot, I was just a passenger, so the blind spots didn't bother me.

Fusion RS?

Wouldn't the Focus RS drivetrain be really impressive in a Fusion? Better yet, a Fusion RS Wagon! Come on Ford, keep em coming!

Surprisingly nice car. We grabbed a Fusion rental out of Sac as well.

Had one a couple summers ago as a rental. It was nice, but not enough so for me (or Mrs Noah) to actual buy one.

Rented a Ford Mondeo in Ireland a few months ago. Right hand drive Fusion. I had a blast driving it on the winding Irish roads.

neighbors had the hybrid - they have car ADHD but they only kept it about 9 months - we took it from Charlotte NC to DC for a Jimmy Buffet concert - ZERO trunk space and about as anemic as they come.... less than 6 weeks later it was gone

Can't say there was one thing I liked about that car

Haven't driven the fusion, but have been very impressive with modern ford products. Love my escape and the Focus RS my folks sold to onewhippedpuppy

Latest Ford and Chevy rental car fleets are light years better than just 10 years ago. Below 90 mph they make my 996 look silly. That means 99.99% of the time.

Most all modern Ford products are impressive. The Focus, in the higher trim and suspension packages is great.

Fun fact, the new Mustang uses the Fusion's rear suspension, almost completely, but with a few part changes and bushing changes.

Ford is overall killing it recently. They have some great products.

I like the front end. Very "Aston Martin".

I will be renting one tomorrow. My mother killed her driver side mirror and needs a car nearly identical to her 2009 Lincoln MKZ. Or really, she will be renting one...

I rented an Escape AWD with small ecoboost 4-cyl. on east coast last winter and absolutely loved it. I had a new Explorer before that and wasn't too crazy about it. Ford definitely has some good product these days, the small Focus and Fiesta sport models are absolute home runs, IMO.

Rental is delayed. I pulled the mirror apart and removed the broken glass. Temp mirror, $7. The real replacement mirror will be here on Monday for $16.

Eventually, the aerodynamic housing will need to be properly replaced...

I bought a 2013 Lincoln MKZ hybrid. I love it. Very comfortable and handles better than expected. Averaging 41 mpg.

I request a Ford whenever I rent a car now. The Taurus is a decent car now.
