Jeep Wrangler - Diesel and Hybrid
Looks like they are coming out with Diesel and Hybrid versions
Jeep Wrangler Diesel And Hybrid Electric Confirmed I used to drive a Grand Cherokee diesel in Romania. I would love a four door Wrangler with a diesel engine

Was really hoping to see the new Jeep pickup at the Detroit auto show....no luck, but did see some cool stuff. A new pickup with a mid-size diesel engine would sell like hotcakes.
It appears that the car makers/government wants to push the hybrid/electric platform more than diesel at least in this country. I think there are too many yuppies and women who don't like the smell of the fuel or the fumes of diesel. I personally own a F250 diesel and love the smell, sound, and performance. my stepdad did bad things to his 1984 Jeep Wrangler. it involved ONE beer. seriously.
anyways, i fixed it. all new suspension, new fenders..had a buddy do the top end of the motor. it was pretty awesome and even with the stock sized tires, could climb and go anywhere. it was like a rubber raft of vehicles. it could get you far enough back to actually get into trouble. when i presented it back to him, he said when he was done with it, he would give it to me. "the mechanical one". i had no eyes on it while he was still on this green earth. he used it for his "old man" hunting, since it involve way more driving than i needed. my sister showed up one day..and claimed it. just like that. asked.."can i have it?" and took it right there and then. right before "old man" duck season. i was PISSED!! more because she took it while my stepdad was still on this green earth enjoying life. she even asked me to tow it to denver for her. EFF THAT. the look on my stepdad's eye pleaded me for forgiveness. nothing to forgive. not mine to claim or give away. his to the end. my sister is a car loser. she once bought an old thunderbird. the big flat ones of the 70's. took the steering wheel off that car and broke a wire in the ignition. that running car never ran again. it rusted out in her driveway and she abandoned it at an el paso ford dealership. the jeep is parked in her garage rusting..it wont run anymore. it wont pass CO smog, since i removed the air pump..hahaha..for my stepdad. i cannot even hear the word JEEP without a slow simmer. that jeep will die in Denver..when it does, i am telling her how i felt.

What engine can we expect in that Wrangler?
I have the RAM with the 3.0 VM diesel. So far it has been great. I could see buying a Wrangler with a diesel replacing my TDI - especially if it comes with a stick shift! G |
