I remember seeing some of these scream around Riverside Raceway back in the day.
(Insert really, really, want raccoon here) Could one of these be made street legal?

I raced in heavyweight super vintage for a couple of seasons on an XS650/750.
For one race at Mosport (a very fast track) they lined the 125s up in front of us to release in two waves. All the heavyweight guys screened bloody murder, that we would come upon them mid way and run them over! ...they lapped us. ![]() ta125-information/ and here is the man that made these bikes famous https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kent_Andersson_(motorcyclist)

^^^ They sound great!
Making a bit more progress. The bike is generally put back together now. Several small pieces have been stripped and painted, and lots of bits have been given the rust gel treatment back to bare metal. Placed an order out of the UK for some other parts. Exhausts will get black high-temp paint soon. Debating on what to do with the engine. It has very rough black paint, which is kind of cool in a racetrack way, but I also like the look of a clean, natural metal engine. No way I'm going to disassemble the motor just for paint, so I might decide to pull it, plug everything and strip with Aircraft Remover. Thoughts? ![]()

that bike is cooler than ten cool things.
if it were me, i'd leave it 'racetrack'. then again, bare metal may allow for better cooling. in the end, do what pleases you.

I much prefer this, Richard.
You work quickly...and it looks tidy.

i stripped and painted the frame but the engine? That wasn't me
my buddy with his 250 used to do a top end (rings) after every session, Pistons each day and cranks every four weeks. This 125 should not need that but definitely no harder to do How much are gaskets?

Actually on second thought to strip the paint I'd take it to someone who does dry ice blasting
Look for some youtube videos of dry ice engine cleaning

Never could decide when at Daytona in the early 70's if the 911rs running through the
end field portion of the track sounded better than the TZ Yamaha's. Flat 6 vrs 2 strokes............. Man oh Man! |

I showed her the picture and asked my wife why does HE get to keep it in the living room?
Here is her response: "...You get to look at me in the living room. " I'm suffering separation anxiety...
