Favorite Movie Directors
This came to mind looking at favorite movie thread.
Hitchcock, Kubrick, De Palma, John Carpenter, Carol Reed, off the top of my head those are the ones that spring to mind.

I will say JJ Abrams and James Cameron and Peter Jackson are among my least favorite.

I used to think the Cohen Bros. were good, now I'm pretty sure they are just trolling their audiences.
If they film a plate of poop for 2 hours, there will be people trying to explain the importance of said poop and how it relates to what their real underlining message is. Obviously they have and can create films that don't require a degree in existentialism to figure out WTF they are trying to say. |

Although, I would've thought Scorsese would make the list before the 13th post. Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, The Departed, etc... Another +1, but I am more partial to the work by his little bro, Tony. |

i have literally worked on thousands of film sets.
my favourite director? Martin Sheen, due to his caring manner. he has only directed 2 productions. i was fortunate enough to work on Cadence, circa 1990. the Gary Busey off-set antics were a bonus. Charlie was pretty cool back then, as well. oh yes, i was on set when they fired Gary and marched him out of the barracks area, through the front gate, by the elbows. : ) Martin directed and as well took over Busey's acting role. so long ago the Fishburne was named Larry. : ) Last edited by creaturecat; 02-19-2016 at 07:39 PM.. |

Richard Benjamin, as director, quote, on set. "there is no we. there's only me me me."
a teamster took a jammer on set on Psych, the series. dropped dead in the lunch line-up. The director went ballistic " get him the hell out of here, this is cutting into my daylight shooting hours". |
