I may get one of these for my 911

Thought this was a laugh, all it needs is a anchor.

lol...

True story. The first car I restored was a Fiat 500. I've got some old photos somewhere. I should post them.

The last time I was in San Francisco on vacation my wife and I did the standard tourist stuff. Walking around in downtown I saw a lot of beater cars and a few nicer cars. Every single one of them had war battle damage on the bumpers. It seemed everyone must park by braille. I remember thinking if I had to park on those streets all the time my car would look like a barge, surrounded with tires for protection.

One boat bumper would be a good start.

I was in San Fran a few years ago and saw tough looking pads hung over the front and rear of several cars while I was there to combat that. I think I would have punk rock style pointy studs in mine.

Parallel parking in Europe will give 99% of Americans a coronary.

Perfectly acceptable and expected to touch bumpers working ones way into a spot only a few inches bigger than the car itself.

See boat bumpers a lot in Europe. I watched an old guy leave a parking place in France last year....He bashed the car behind him so hard, he left with it's front plate stuck between his rear bumper and body....

I need those boat bumpers in downtown Ann Arbor.

The place is full of college kids which cannot park and don't care to learn, and rich people who don't think their stuff stinks.

You would think I'd have more issues in poor areas, but I don't.

Let's see, I could sneak a couple out of the front truck while parked, but the rear one's would have an heat issue.

I gave up on street parking a while back, the parking structures are better if you can get close to a column.

A small confession, A car yesterday could have done with one of those. There was a three car park and the two cars at either end had taken up a park and a half. I thought "there is always enough room for a Corolla and tried to squeek the car in. By the time my towbar had trashed their numberplate and other bits I thought I better get hell out of there.

That car is goofy with the boat fenders.

It's a little dinghy.

SF Bay Area? Forget about driving a nice car there if you need to use street parking or public parking. Take a rental. And that goes for the East Bay too.
