At almost $215,000 dollars — on top of the car’s $320,000 price tag — it’s enough to buy a brand-new Porsche, with some change.

Make no mistake, there is only one reason to pay $215k for a clock:

I liked the observation that for that money you can buy a Porsche and have change leftover.

Great if you can afford it but considering the stupid money some people pay for so called "Art" this clock isn't that extravagant.

Those are Australian dollars,it's only really about $160,000!

I will say this, that if my company made that clock it would be around $500,000 and not be as well made!

It also appears to have a tourbillon movement which are extremely complicated and simply put counteract the forces of gravity on the movement / fascinating stuff if you ask me.

Just yesterday I ran into a blue collar guy bragging how he bought a pair of rolexes for him and his wife for V day. Has to be at 25% of his annual post tax income. He did not buy them for himself or his wife - he bought them so he could impress people by telling them. Weird ...
