Tell me about the Victory Octane
A friend of mine sent me the following video. He knows I've been looking to upgrade over my 2010 Vulcan Custom. What say ye, Pelican Brain Trust? My alternative has been a 2016 V-Max.

Personally, I'd go with a previous gen VMax. They are badass!

It's bringing what the HD V-Rod brought to the table over a decade ago...which was a Porsche designed water-cooled twin.
Victory is better at one thing, marketing.

I always liked the Victories.
Yamaha's practice of not allowing test rides pissed me off, so I didn't get a Vmax when i was looking at them. Bill |

I had an '01 V92C. Had to sell it due to a messed-up tailbone. I still miss the bike.
V-Twins should be aircooled. This looks like nothing but a rebadging of the Indian Scout. 2016 Indian Scout Motorcycle - Thunder Black Smoke : Features

Hmm... what to make of Victory these days, after their parent company re-introduced "Indian"? I know - let's re-image Victory as a manufacturer of "sport bikes". Project 156, their Pike's Peak effort, and their efforts in drag racing are all about that. It would be awesome if they seriously attacked that notion and went about it with a vengeance. With this "Octane", however, it looks like they chickened out. No more than an Indian Scout re-branded. If only they would go full "Eric Buell" mode and come out with the 156 platform for the street. Then we would have something. Until then, well, it appears they are doing their utmost to snatch defeat from the jaws of Victory...

Dang. Some serious dislike up in here.
Anyhow, a buddy and I are going to check them out on a demo day. Looks like a fun bike.
