I have to think there's a business in taking 997s and 991s and getting them close to something like this car, but personalized.

I've had the same thought, except including the 996. RPM Technik does a pretty awesome CSR build in the UK. I would go one step farther and incorporate some lightweight modifications and content removal. On a serious diet I think you could get a 996.1 C2 down to about 2700 lbs while retaining basic creature comforts. That has been a desired project of mine for several years now.

Agreed this should be the base, but Porsche is all over the map with their offerings now, GT, GTrs, GT3, R all cars are turbos now, but you can get a Turbo, all cars will be PDK, but here's a manual - get it together!

Offer 1 for the masses, a mid model, then high end racer toy, and build the best of all three - done...

O K , I really really want ! 493 naturally aspirated HP at 8250 rpm with no sound deadening, and only 2750 pounds, and a real 6 speed manual trans ? Wow, what a brain scrambling ride that will be.

If I'm reading everything right, 2750 is dry weight. Curb weight is 3020 pounds. If the curb weight is 3020 lbs, I'm surprised it's that heavy. Curb weight on my 991 is 3042. Lose 22lbs and add 150hp and I can have an R. :)

As much as I'd love to be able to have this car, a well optioned 991 with MT is tons of fun.
