Star Wars - i want my 2hrs and 16 min back
Worst movie, basically ever, that i have watched until the very end, in a theatre. jeez. what a mess of a movie.
I would have left early, however i remained hopefully that the dog/lion would get killed in a remarkable, painful fashion. no such luck. the moaning yipping thing was there until the final frame.

Not a fan I guess
![]() Overall it was a pretty good movie, I hated all the throwbacks (the bar scene, the battle at the end with the "death planet", etc.). The wookie? You hate the wookie?

** Spoiler ALERT: If you haven't seen Star Wars, A New Hope, or Star Wars, The Force Awakens, click the back button. **
It reminds me of another movie that came out a few years ago... A robot with a secret message escapes to a desert planet. The robot finds its way to a young person with not much of a future to look forward to. So this young guy person has to leave the planet and is friended by an older person who introduces that person to the Force. And the secret messages the robot has will be pivotal in balancing the power between good and evil. Then there is this huge planet or moon-like weapon that can destroy whole planets with the press of a button. And the elder person faces the evil nemesis. And meets his end. The planet weapon gets destroyed by dropping a bomb into a small, vulnerable area of the weapon. So which movie did I just describe? Star Wars - A New Hope, or Star Wars, The Force Awakens ? (OR BOTH?) -Z

It is a million times better the the last Mad Max move.
The new star Wars is just the same old move rehash with new special effects. It will indeed have at least two more sequels. Most likely a lifetime of sequels. The newest Mad Max move has no plot of any sort. Just lots of improbable machines powered by gas and an endless supply of bullets. There is no clue on what those folks eat to live. I am a guy that loves action movies and blowin stuff up real good. Mad Max does that but it is just a horrible pointless movie.

So Spaceballs II is a "thumbs down" already for you?
![]() I loved the Millenium Falcon scene. I only didn't like the kid. Too much whiny entitlement coming from Han Jr. And the names...what's with the names? Totally unforgettable, unlike Luke Skywalker. Otherwise, I thought it was the best movie I'd seen in years. |

But really guys, you couldn't come up with an original plot? Not that it matters... pretty sure the sale of star wars yogurt cups and plushies covered the cost of filming... the rest is gravy.

Yes it's the same story as episode 4 (the original star wars). You knew (or should have known) that's what you're getting. JJ Abrams did the same thing with the Star Trek reboot (which I also enjoyed). If you expect to be surprised, then both films are disappointing. If you're just looking to be entertained, they do the job well IMO. Whole new generation of fans being created, so Disney can recoup what they paid Lucas.

Good guys figure out a way to sneak past security, fight the bad guys, and disable the shields in the nick of time so the other good guys can blow up the big bad round thing.
How many times are they going to feed that ****ing line to us? |

Yea, with over two BILLION in worldwide box office income (so far) I think it was a safe investment for Disney.

I haven't seen it yet so I didn't read anything except for the title because I want to see it
That said Disney owns the franchise now |

I enjoyed it a lot, but I probably come at it from a slightly different perspective because I hadn't watched a Star Wars movie since probably the mid 80s. It was like experiencing the old ones all over again, but with better SFX.

Felt the same way. Saw this all before. Just as bad was the last Jurassic park movie. 2 big let downs. Well at least deadpool was worth watching and I did enjoy the new Star Trek movies.

the cinematography sucked. the acting was unbelievably brutal- other than the female co-star. the so-called story line-even worse.
who in the hell was the light-in-the loafers Darth-like guy? The one with the blacked out large campbell's soup tin can on his face. man, that hurt. what the hell was that thing rolling around with the map trying to say? beats me. where those the reject props from the original Star Trek series? couple of fun cgi/green screen elements. that was it. fwiw; that is the first Star Wars Movie that i have viewed, since the first one. |

We can bad-mouth the episode as much as we want, but lets keep things in perspective. In this movie at least there were no:
