Elissa And Her 87 Day Stay

What a nightmare for any one to go through. We have been at UT southwestern hospital for 87 days now. The Doctors are now cutting the orders to leave this afternoon at 3 ish only a few hours away. Elissa is fearful of leaving knowing she will have to return fairly soon. C.F. is one bad Mo Fo to deal with.
Our lives were put on hold for 87 days, Living with her at the hospital we would not have it any other way.
We have seen families we had met lose their loved ones and have seen most go home through our extended stay.
Today is the first time in Elissa's life that I am in charge of seeing her Discharged, Generally my wife is the one over seeing the process but last night was my night and I know Sharon is beat.
Again thanks for the support and gifts from around the WORLD.
It looks like Christmas will be on Wednesday.

I'm glad she is getting out. Give her a hug from PPOT! Most hospitals try to be as comfortable as possible, but no hospital is fun. My grandson was in and out of almost a year, and it was a horrible experience for us all. His mom stayed with him. Gained about 50 pounds on hospital food. When she left she looked like it was her who was sick.

It's crazy to look back at how much of my life has revolved around a hospital. It's sad how much this past 87 day stay has mentally and physically changed me, so much so that I am in need of a double lung transplant.
That's going to be the biggest and hardest battle I will face.
But I'll leave that for when the time is right.
For now I rest at home with my mom, dad, Pebbles, and enjoy the company of friends.
Merry Christmas, everyone! And I hope you had a happy whatever other holiday that I missed out on.
