The 74 Targa is Diamond Blue metallic, the 77 coupe at the end is Ice Green metallic. I love the diamond blue.

I was truly entertained by this fine video. You have some nice cars, but a better taste in music. Kashmir is my favorite all time.

Nice video and music.
Fun to watch looks like a cable TV concept, combining music history and sports car history.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was envisioning it as. Would be nearly impossible to do though for real, considering the music license fees would make it an extremely expensive show haha.

I liked how he pointed out that the lead off track from Houses was literally the first thing the world heard after IV/Stairway. Obvious, but I never thought about it that way, and I will not think about Song Remains the Same in quite the same way again.
Once the "Song Remains The Same" montage starts, the serendipitously overexposed sun-bleached driving shots provide the ideal "faded" vintage nostalgia backdrop to the driving footage, as vintage Zep blasts in the background. If the footage was regular clear "modern" GoPro footage without the sun glare, that opening sequence would not have anywhere the same impact. It also sustains long enough to make it impossible to not start bobbing your head. The opening 2.5 mins is one of the best car video intros I've ever seen. I loved how "The Ocean" is being played in the background while he discusses the negative reception of Houses of the Holy. Wham!! Here is a commercially panned album, ironically containing one of Zep's most epic and definitive riffs of their entire career. It truly hammers home the theme of people always sticking their noses up at anything new, even if it kicks ass in every quantifiable way. (PDK, anyone?!) Is that a loser's "wah wah wahhhh" sound effect when he shows the garish bumpers of other cars? Or is that some insane cosmic exhaust note coincidence? My prefered ending would have been for him to go directly from "....the bedroom poster industry can not be overstated. It was HUGE." then cutting straight into Kashmir and the exit driving montage.

Must join the list of those who fully enjoyed the comparison, extremely well done. I look forward to watching it again on 5.1 HD home theater!

Really enjoyed it!
Great parallels! Of course I am biased on the 74 911.

WOW, you nailed it Justin!
Your thesis and video is absolutely incredible. In fact it made me go to the garage and have a look at what sits inside, and experience (perhaps) a bit of regret that the '80SC Targa no longer resides there. But the 997 did put a smile on my face which will soon turn to hoots and hollers when a buddy and I play hokey today and go find the twisties on the glorious NorCal Coast, of course with Led Zeppelin surrounding me! ![]() KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!
