Fiat, Why NOT to buy one!

This has been the MOST miserable car I have ever owned.
Well, as usual, its the company that produces said product that is most negligent .
What is worse it is not the cars fault, it is the Ivory Tower attitude that came with it.
Fiat Just does not care.
Period!
They have a program called "Fiat Cares", LOL I am here to tell you Fiat could give one crap and less about a customer .
They sent me supposedly all "set up" to a dealer in VT ( I live in NYS) I had the man's name "Dick" the service manger in hand from Fiat cares.
I drive over 2.5 hours to the place , the 1st thing on Monday morning, a month ago-.
He says who sent ya?
He had no clue I was coming !
and no
No, we dont fix that.
OMFG !
The dealer in Albany will not even talk to me. He says I live too far away from them and I should have not ever bought the car ! (Tom in the service dept said that to me )
This car has gone through 20 tires in 60,ooo miles !
*Cooling leaks under the car
*The shifter has failed 2 times, towed two times . Cables i am told.
It sat in their shop the first time 28 days! ( they would NOT give me a loaner either )
*Rear calipers have seized 3 times .
*The driver seat belt will not retract. (Hangs out the door after I get out ) Bam!
*Tire monitoring system has NOT ever worked, (Ok exaggeration maybe it has for one month)
*Rear hatch is electric and will not open.
*Driver window is electric and will not work.
*body skirts under the doors have fallen off.
*ALL THE WHEEL BEARING HAVE BEEN REPLACE AND REARS ARE NOW howling AGAIN !
Shall I go on?.
There is a LOT more , but i think the point can readily bee seen..
A Warning to the world - DO NOT go near a Fiat !

I always heard FIAT stood for: Fit It Again Tony. I guess it still does.

I bought it brand new all shiny in jan 2013..
It was going to be the next best thing...well next to a Pinto or Vega maybe. LOL
It was supposed to be a great little grocery getter with some spirit to make it fun to drive and own.
Yes it was maybe the most expensive mistake i have ever made.

If it's the newish 500, we rented one for a trip north of SanFran. I drove it for four or five days and knew we would never own one.

Dude. Get a good Lemon Law attorney. You'll probably get almost all your money back, including tax.

You asked Fiat to buy it back or hired a Lemon Law attorney? This looks like a slam dunk case.

Funny, I asked about these cars a few yeas ago and got a mixed response (but enough negative to keep me away from buying one).
Don't be surprised if someone post here singing there praises.

I rented one in Italy a few months ago and drove it 1500 miles. What a POS!

I once knew a girl who had a fiat and tried to be a real keener. She wanted to change her oil. So she went to the store and bought the required amount. She proceeded to add the required oil to the engine. Then, she fired it up. It smoked very badly and eventually died.

She didn't remove the old oil first...

The father drained the now doubled oil, filled up the required amount, brought it to the dealer and pleaded ignorance. The car just started smoking :s. Dealer fixed it on their dime.

What state do you purchase the car in? Lemon Law rules are controlled by the states. AFAIK, there are the automatic qualifications, for example in CA 4 or more visits uncorrected, or 2 visits for a serious safety defect uncorrected, or cumulatively 30 days or more in the shop during the Lemon Law period, which I believe is the factory warranty period. And I don't think you have to qualify under the automatic rules to prevail. You've had so many problems that I'd think you'd win. Let me know what state you bought the car in and I'll try to talk to my guy, who used to say he could handle out of state cases, but has been unreachable lately.

I would go after the seat belt problem... "safety" is a hot button for most state agencies (ask me how I know).

Spend some more money and get a wrap for it with the words POS, don't buy a fiat, junk car, fix it again Tony, etc call over it for the whole world to see.

Then drive it around until Fiat starts to care $$$$$$$$
