Just how much are the none S long hoods now?

I did make it to Patrick Long's event in downtown LA today instead of going out to the race in Fontucky. There are A LOT of long hoods here in Socal. Some are absolutely beautiful some were drivers and still they were beautiful too ( me like em' so much more). I think all long hood owners took their cars out today to this event. I am hearing these prices and they are just out of this world. Asking price is one thing, but getting it is another. So, just how much is a none S driver worth? None matching number car, even if it has some funky mods like larger wheels and graphics that do not belong? I was hearing numbers above 100k for these things.

Oh no not this one. It has chipped and faded paint. Looked like its been around the track a few times and put away wet. Worn seats and just looks like a 35 year old car. I hear the owner asking over 100K. This was a coupe, still, over 100?

You can ask whatever you want, doesn't mean you will get it.

There is a guy on eBay wanting $21,000,000 for his car.

There is another one for $65K with no motor.

Only reason I was watching the two E's is I will be putting mine up for sale after my operation on the 21st. That is if I make it, if I don't it's my kids problem.

Hope it is nothing serious and that your kids aren't screaming around in the old E anytime soon....

I'm gonna sell my 77 ROW soon as well - not taking anything less than 35K. I may have it for a while.

I have a sunroof '70S that is original in that the paint is correct for the year but not as per the COA. The MFI motor is within a year of the COA but again not correct as per the COA but everything else is correct (deep sixes. trim, radio, etc) and its a really nice driver with fresh Elephant suspension. When it goes up for sale this year I would be amazed if it sold for over $100K but maybe I am wrong. The Hagerty value on a #4 was $110K I do not know how accurate those indexes are.

If you "watch"the crap on EBAY it is relisted over and over .
Even here on the for sale board there is stuff listed way out there in Lala land .
Go look and see !
It is free advetizment..so I guess they have this remote whimsical idea of "what ifs and a few maybes ."
No one is going to pay 90K for a 1975 Targa!
Like said - "asking is one thing , selling is the absolute as to what it is worth ."

^^^^ I agree 100%. It appears the long-hood market could even be softening. It reached a point where EVERYBODY would sell for the current price, BAM!...flooded with inventory. Even Seinfeld sold a bunch of cars.

Unique cars are still strong, but the stock T's and E's are just sitting at $70K and $90K respectively. Hot rods too, taking much longer to sell. A year ago Paul Kramer couldn't keep a long hood or long-hood hot rod in the Auto Kennel more than a few days. Now there are a couple that been there for a month.

My 75 long-hood backdate hot rod sold for $112,500 10 months ago (a backdate???). I doubt very much I could get that now..Excellence Mag article or not.

The T's are around in greater numbers and everything was an option back then. When I received my COA I was surprised how many options were added to the base model. From AC (dealer installed) to the "S" trim, the original buyer had fun. A well sorted 1973.5T with 2.4L and CIS. Fun car and in the ever more popular Sepia Brown.

Does a 73T make it more valuable then a 72 because of the halo RS car year?

Are those guys losing money who did the hot rod mods or RS clone from those early years. I saw some there that were beautifully done. The original cars all dolled up were just original, and OK.

There's a guy around the corner from me with a very nice looking 71 T. Maybe he's unaware of the market. I should drop by with $20K cash and see if he's selling.

Oh man, I worked with a guy who had a 73S targa. I recall he sold it for mid 20s about 8 years ago ... I had no interest in it. It was slower than my SC ...
