Does anybody still use ICQ?

I just saw on a member's profile, and got me thinking. I was on it the whole time late 90s early 00s iirc. Followed by aol, then yahoo messenger. Miss those days.

Does anyone still use icq? How did it evolve?

Yes indeed, with my coworkers. I use t he pidgin client on Linux, 'cause I have google talk and a few other "networks" to work with as well.

ICQ was the first instant messenger - before that, all we had was email and IRC chat.

My "home" account number is 1678013 but I'm not on it often, at work I use 3440385. Feel free to add me

I used it back then too, there was another one called freetel that a few friends used. It was such a novel thing at the time to chat with people. I remember being kind of freaked about the whole thing.

Havent even thought about icq in probably 15yrs.

I used it back in the day. The ICQ message noise is the text message alert sound on my phone.

I used it a long time ago. Started using it around 1998, and probably stopped around 2002. About a year ago, I resintalled to see if any of my old friends were still there. Only one.
After all those years, I still remembered my old number. 16600336.
