Yep...I had three of the WD's, one on each door, when the garage was built. Two of them quit working, so I replaced the one I use the most with a Liftmaster. The third door, I never replaced the opener. (that door is on the rear of the garage) It's funny because the one WD I still have is the one I replaced the circuit board with a used one off of ebay......and it is still going after about 20 years!

A wise installer once told me an opener doesn't open nor close the door, it just tells it which position it should be in, open or closed.

I have had all of my Liftmasters installed professionally. That spring is no joke.

I've got the Liftmaster opener with the My Q remote. Like DD says, it's the bees knees. I can open garage remotely for guests arriving before I do and it's great for checking those "Did I close the garage door?" brain farts.

That was the best part of the Wayne Daltons. No messing with the torsion spring...just set the opener on the torsion bar and clamp it down to the bar and the garage wall. Very simple install. .

You don't really have to mess with the torsion spring with the liftmaster if the door is balanced properly. The process is really no difference for the Wayne Dalton or the Liftmaster.

The Liftmaster I have, I purchased at Home Depot and they had a deal going for some low price install with purchase. (can't remember but I think it was $50)
The guy was here for a half day doing it. The Wayne Daltons I did myself and I could have done two in that time. I should start a business. ![]()
