1963 Morris Minor 1000, it sure was under powered but it was better than riding a bike.

1959 Pontiac Catalina wagon w/389/tri-power. Hood was as long as an aircraft carrier, but it could move if you put your foot into it.
I failed my first driving test, which I took in Mom's 1964 Studebaker. It had a 289/4-bbl and automatic and it was fast. I asked why I failed the driving test and the examiner said I cornered too fast. Say what?
I learned to drive stick by watching my girl friend in jr high drive her VW (yeah, she was an older woman). When we got to drive the VW in driver's ed, my auto shop teacher, who also was the driver's ed instructor, noted that I must have driven stick before. Nope, just knew what the mechanics of it were about and had been real observant.

Pretty much this... without the wood slat sides... about 1966.

Well could have been a Volvo too. Goes without saying in this country at that time.
