Food safe Silicone grease
Any ideas where I can buy locally? For super-automatic coffee machine, to lube O-rings.
Depot has plumbers grease for faucets, but I can't tell for sure it's food-safe.

Not silicone, but it is NSF. We use it on softserve machine o-rings, and it is the industry standard for food contact grease.

The only food-grade ones I am familiar with are Lubriplate and Nyogel.
You might see if you can find a small tube/sample of either somewhere. ![]() |

Food safe mineral oil you can buy at the drug store might be an option.

For as little as you will need just use Vaseline. Put some on, wipe off all excess, and brew a pot of nothing but water. Done.

If they are neoprene, Vaseline could cause them to swell and turn to jelly.

I used silicone faucet/plumbing grease from home depot.
Safe for drinking water/faucets, and the coffee tastes pretty good.......

I work for a medial device manufacturer and we use food service safe greases on our injection molds.
There are several brands, but CRC seems to have a readily available variety, including: https://www.amazon.com/CRC-03040CS-Grade-Silicone-Aerosol/dp/B07DCDMYWT/ref=sr_1_3/132-4419055-4811661?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1544907251&sr=1-3&keywords=crc+food+grade+silicone+lubricant Weston is another brand: https://www.amazon.com/Weston-03-0101-W-Lubricate-Equipment-Resistance/dp/B0030HL3CO/ref=sr_1_4/132-4419055-4811661?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1544907251&sr=1-4&keywords=crc+food+grade+silicone+lubricant |
