Wayne, I know you are the benovelent dictator here...but you just set my teeth on edge when you used the word "negative". You see , whenever I hear someone use "negative" or "positive" in a debate, I figure they either work for the government schools, or are mentally incompetent, or most likely...both!

Being told I am being negative is usually the first step to my vetoing a proposal. Just because an idea is put forward does not mean it is worth trying.
If it ain't broke why try to fix it, sometimes improvements and developments result in less than you started with. It is possible to be oversystematic and compartmentalise to the point that none of the available compartments is suitable, or that a post doesn't get the audience it merits - (could always put the same post in different boards?) If we are negative, perhaps our benevolent dictator is being defensive. I agree with the posters saying it would fragment and dilute the board. A part of the 911 board's success is because of numbers and variety.
