I go every year, this one too. Craig Bennet in the Shadow, Chris Macalister in the Mclaren ought to be a great race. Those guys are fast, both won here, impeccably prepared cars. Should be fun.

Heading over Friday morning from Mpls. Would it make sense to drag a bicycle with for pedaling around Road America? No problem with walking, but thought it might be easier to check out different locations for viewing....

Thanks for the heads up! I missed this last year, and I'll see if I can squeeze it into my wekeend this year. I'd love to see the Can-Am race.
And yes, I think a bicycle can be kind of handy for getting around the track.

T6-7, Hurry downs... all terrific spectators delight. (Years back at this event, it was a hoot when I got passed by a McLaren F1 car..... on my right.... on that straight just cresting and before 5. Other highlight was scrubbing all four and right behind a Howmet turbine in the carousel. Good lord.) There's infield camping for all kind - tent / camper. Consider Plymouth Rock campgrounds. The times have mellowed there and now very nice with a pool, showers. Leave your vehicle at the campground and ride the bike to the track, fast in or out. Don't miss the Can-am cars parade on the roadway into town and Siebkens. My brother got his nutz off driving (revving) one in. hehe-

My neighbor down the street runs a couple cars there. A March and a Chevron. Kinda dorky, but he steals famous liveries and paints his cars that way. He now owns the old Stutz factory as a biz development. My friend, is one of his crew members. Here are a couple pics of the Chevron...
