No British GP Thread?
Kind of a boring race. IIRC, Hamilton lead from flag to flag. Lots of drama for all other places, including lots of spinouts. Not sure I agree with the penalty for Rosberg, more because I don't agree with the rule. I kind of feel like Mercedes felt like an unknown penalty was better than a DNF and rolled the dice.

Or, it was Toto saying, "Take this, you little twit".

Hamilton won the race walking away from the pack after the pace car and then after the change to Inters. Clearly outdrove Rosberg in tougher conditions, much like Monaco. Yes, the radio rule is stupid, but in Baku Hamilton was told they could not answer his question.
The extended Sky coverage showed Hamilton running along the fence after the interviews to greet the massive crowd. Even jumped the fence and went crowdsurfing. Then a long interview - really made me happy to see how much he appreciates the crowd, the opportunity, the win. All in all, some impressive driving, especially Verstappen passing on the outside on Becketts. Mad skills.

How about that interaction between Hamilton and Rosberg in the "green" room before the podium? You sure could feel the love there!

I thought it was a decent race, not that the outcome was in doubt, but there were a lot of incidents and quite a few good dices. I've never been a Hambone fan but he wins with enthusiasm. And he's racking up quite a tally, so he's definitely among the greats, in terms of talent. A different guy from Rosberg, for sure, and that's probably a good thing.
Of course, the moto racing was far better this weekend, so lots of TV time spent on those races... JR |

Yes - that's another good part of the coverage. They say, "let's be quiet and listen to the drivers." That was very awkward - very cold.

I'm neither surprised nor disappointed at their lack of public displays of warm fuzzies.
From Hamilton's point of view, Rosberg has punted him twice and blamed Hamilton in both cases. Just where was Rosberg expecting Hamilton to go? Barcelona: ![]() Austria: ![]() Regardless of your occupation, if someone had taken measures to ensure you fail at your job, I cannot imagine wanting to give them any attention. From Rosberg's point of view, in each of the last two years he has had a huge advantage in points as a result of his good driving and tactics along with lots of mechanical and tactics issues from Hamilton. Last year Hamilton came back and won the Championship. Kinda looks like the same thing might happen again this year. For someone with a pretty health ego (as all F1 drivers are going to possess) it cannot be easy to see someone in identical kit consistently beat you.

Yeah, yawn.. Hamilton wins.
Yes, he is a great driver, not faulting him. I turned the race off about half way through.
