It would be incredibly hard to put your fingers into this one while it's running. For one, the on switch isn't a hard switch, if you let it go the motor stops. The other factor is that the vessel tapers inward and you'd really have to try for it while ignoring the fact that the spinning blades of doom are obviously running

If you could stop yourself from buying more un-needed shoes, you could probably retire from this career in grifting. You might even be able to save up enough green to buy a real blender for yourself. Smoothies are your friend when your teeth start falling out.

How's your return policy? Costco's is hard to beat.

Costco sells Blentec as well as Vitamix.
Vitamix is fine if you don't mind chewing......
I got a Blendtec after I returned the Vitamix.

It even makes ice cream.

Yes and no. We do go all of the way up to 10, and we do use speeds in between. It's nice to gradually increase and gradually decrease the speed. You wouldn't use speed 10 for everything

Test them yourself.
I understand that Vitamix has a 3:1 return ratio to Blentex at Costco.

I have an old school Vitamix. To be honest, it's probably more blender than most people will need.

I find it odd that people return blenders, not because they don't work at all, but because they perceive something else might be better.

I had a girlfriend that worked trade shows at Costco and she said blenders (even high end blenders) are a cool gifts that get returned often. She said Costco expects a 5% return on most blenders.
Costco has a great return policy (perhaps the best in retail) so take it home and try it is pretty common.

With my Vitamix the vegetable seemed nicely chopped (sharp blades) but with Blendtec the harder vegetables seems smoother (flat blades that pulverize and more power) no need to chew.

The Blendtec also has per-programed buttons so reputability is a given. Set it and walk away.

There are several Vitamix models with pre-programmed buttons. Mine has several programs, and we use them.

Returning to the top of blenders. I own a Hamilton Beach BBF600 at work and at home. It's a great blender for a larger scale production as well as a big family. I highly recommend it. The control panel is easy to understand and the overall power exceeds the typical mass market one. Overall a very good addition to your kitchen

I pay $10 for a used one at the thrift store every 4 or 5 years. But I have no need for a great blender.

Vegas should give up the gambling and hookers angle and promote their thrift shops.
