Do you wish you had more children?
Children are great. My second wife gave birth age 41. It was my first and her first child.
Do you ever have regrets of not having more children? Two would have been perfect but our ages dictated otherwise.... |

Got 3. Not once have either of us ever woken up and said "Gee, wish we had a kid". And not once have either of us regretted having the kids we got. Well, except for that one time....
Was told we couldn't have kids. No big deal, didn't particularly want any. Then the wife started playing with her sister's BC pills to avoid having a period while we were on a cruise, and a month later, wallah! Child #1 on the way (about to turn 16 now). At which point wife starting planning child #2, worked with OB/GYN and found out that glucophage (diabetes drug) can help women with PCOS become fertile. Child #2 turns 13 in December. Wife didn't get snipped while having her c-section, I didn't get snipped, a few years of various BC methods and the wife and I started not getting along well and sex dropped to the point of "eh, buy a box of condoms every year, if you are lucky". Child #3 turns 6 in November .Age? I'm 45 and She Who Must Be Obeyed is 48.... you got time to have another, or adopt! My dad was 45 when I was born... my former boss (now retired) was 48 when his first was born, 51 with his second. His wife is 10 years younger than he is... |

I've got three lovelies... 20, 26 & 27. I'm 51 and fit so if I met the "right" lady the yes I'd definitely have more.
One life... Make the most of it! Only one problem. Meeting the right lady. I've been divorced for about 14 years and I haven't met her yet. Lots of interesting ladies along the way but only two have come close and even then not for very long.

At this point in my life...no way, 51 is too old to start all over again. I have a 22 year old daughter, and a 17 year senior boy. I would have liked the thought of having more kids if my wife could have stayed home, and not had to work, like my mother was able to do for my brother and I.
Without a better career/more money, and better health on my part, we couldn't do it. |

Why not adopt? Seriously. I've considered it myself (and still may).

We've got two, one of each kind, of the greatest kids in the world. Just ask anyone who's met them. They're both grown and ready to start families of their own now.

Nope and I'm making sure that more don't happen on my end in September.
I'm 49 and my wife is 40. Our kids are now 10 and 12.5. We wanted 2 and are happy with that decision.

No. I have two (boy and girl) and my mate has two (both girls). It is plenty for our blended family!

I married into a ready-made family with two young kids. We had a third, and three is fine with us. They're a fertile bunch though, just celebrated the birth of our 10th grandkid a week ago today!

We've got a daughter (26) and son (24). Always had planned on just two kids. They are the best/greatest accomplishment that my wife and I have been blessed with. Had we known the joy they'd bring, we would have had more - one if not two. We were fortunate that we didn't have anything other than minor issues with discipline, etc.

Just released my last version a year and a half ago. That makes 3 for me, ages from 26 to 12 to 1. I just made 50 myself. The last certainly wasn't planned and came after docs told my wife there was no chance she would get pregnant after some lady surgery was done 4 years prior.
No doubt that it was hard to wrap my head around at the time and all retirement/college plans were completely undone. I couldn't imagine life without my little Charli.

The cost of education makes that a non-starter for me. Up until University it is easy...

Mine just moved out. Great kids. Good times
But now it's our turn to be selfish :-) Latest trend is like throwing baby showers, throwing grandchild showers Neither of us understand that. Our jobs are done and it's nice to tune in once in a while and see how they are progressing, but no need to meddle or dote. There is too much music and dancing to do together before we are too old to move anymore

I think I should have made a far, far greater contribution to the gene pool. The kids and grandkids I have are all very intelligent, healthy individuals that will all make great contributions to society. We need more people like that. I don't think that is what you were asking though. I have no regrets with the number of children I have.
