Center console deleted. How to plug the hole

While doing the shifter bushing refresh I finally was motivated to pull the center console out in my SC.

The two little holes where the screws were aren't so bad.

The large hole where the AC wires were is an issue.

I've searched here and google and didn't see anything too inspiring

Anyone come up with something besides having a shop fabricate something or sticking a fire extinguisher there ?

Cut some nice (black?) leather to size and make a rectangular patch that will cover the entire area.
Use some body grade double sided tape to hold it in place. That may sound awful but it could look OEM if done with care.

Or build a cup holder to cover the area??? Something like this but forward of the gear stick.

I formed a piece of Kydex to cover the area. I think it looks OK, I'll try to get a pic.

Precision Plastic can mould anything from anything. I've used them in the past because I'm crazy like that.
