That add is exactly what I would expect for a car with a wimpy power plant (aka - a futile attempt to justify Fred Flintstone power with utter nonsense).

10 pounds per hps the minimum. I like cars to be in the sub 7 pounds per hps range and sub 5 gets my blood pressure up

I think we have discussed this before.
In a road car, anything beyond 400hp is likely never going to get used. For me, the most 'fun' is a light car with 200-250hp and a manual. |

Ive got friends from the autocross world, building some serious HP hill climb cars Twin turbo setups on ls motors. 700hp on mild tunes .
Last season, they totaled it , Im anxious to see how this season plays out . So much power, they cannot keep the rear hooked . I heard, that he made 2 runs, first one, was accelerating out of the gate, and lost it in a straight line, and went off course. Next run, he made it further up the hill , but ended up cooking a turn, and balled it up. These guys are not pros , but I would say pretty experienced drivers . I think at some point, they are going to have to limit the power these cars make, someone is going to get hurt . This years car has more power

Turbo has more power but its advantage is diminished on a track with too many tight corners and short straights.
So Mint might lose if they raced at LeMans. ![]() Bummer is over time a turbo engine is twice the cost feed compared to the less stressed aspirated engines. You don't need any hp to learn momentum driving. In the book Twist of the Wrist they mention an Engines off Race by coasting down a hill whoever loses most momentum loses. Miata is a fine car but its not in my top ten slow cars i want to own or drive. My current slow car 86 911 is more challenging to drive than a Miata. |

A car race X-Box game (circa 2007) had races where you were not allowed to use the brakes. I was perplexed as to why but seems those that make the games knew better.

You know when you've hit the apex perfectly. You know when you braked to early or too late. You know when you turned in too early or too late. It doesn't make any difference how much power you have behind (or in front of) you - you know if you're driving well and making the right decisions. Horsepower can make up for mistakes, but inside your helmet ...you know.

So..wow, you have a fast car and like to brag about it while saying those here who make other choices suck. Gee, I'm sooo impressed!
