I drove a brand new Kamaz in 2010 when I was in Siberia. My company had several of them. At the time I also had a Unimog.
The Kamaz was impressive but the Trans had a weird shift pattern. The Super Dutys with the MAN diesel were the best.

Yes, that's awesome. But remember that truck is light. Aft of the cab is a very light, empty compartment, so power/weight ratio is great. Also in relative terms the center of gravity is very low in the truck. Plus it's almost mid engined ;-) and it'll hold its own until they get to the switch backs. When the zombie apocalypse comes I'm taking the truck every time.

Cool vid from Red Bull as usual, but it implies that the two vehicles are similar in performance on a rally stage - there is a zero possibility of that. The Dakar trucks are amazing machines but Latvala probably stopped for a quick coffee along the way while he was waiting for the truck to catch up
