I used to work for Terex. A painter there asked me why they paint them green. And the answer was so they can hide in the grass when the CAT's come by.

I'm paying my respects today to a cat called Monk.

Sadly Monk is dying of old age and going to be euthanized later today. His age is unknown but he's older than eighteen and has lived a long and varied life.

Monk was an SPCA boy who was adopted by a Jazz musician living in a southern state of the US. The musician guy emigrated to New Zealand bringing with him his much loved and very large cat Monk. After some time the guy died of old age, and his friend Barbara took over the cat. Monk became something of a celebrity and did the rounds each day of the retirement complex bringing a lot of joy and happiness to everyone in the place.

He slowed down six months ago and is signing off today - so thanks for all your good work and fun times Monk.

Condolences to you, and I understand what you are going through. My cat passed away ten years ago now. I had her from the time she was four weeks old, and she died in June after turning twenty April second. She went down hill quickly in her final months. The Vet told me she was in the process of passing on when I brought her in and would have dead if I had waited until later in the day.

First a quick update on outside cat, AKA Gary.

He's gotten quite comfortable here. Completely trusts us and is starting to crawl in my lap.

Tonight, this happened.

Thats not Gary, he's on the chair just above whoever this new one is.

Looks like it's not a year old yet and the face has that female shape.

Now what?

Sorry you had to deal with that Marv. She was a very pretty girl. Annie, our granny kitty is 19 and all she does is sit on her heated pad. She opens her mouth to meow and the only thing that comes out is a feeble little squeak.

We wonder how long she will be with us. She still wants to be fed and drinks a lot. We have the spendy litter but she blows through it in a few days because she uses it so much.

Bugs. That's a pretty old kitty. Congrats to her for living such a long life & to you for making it possible for her. My cat got very thin at the end and when the end came, it came quickly. Most likely it will be the same for yours. It's a big loss after having a cat (or any pet) for two decades. I like cats and dogs, but won't be getting another pet most likely. I really don't like them passing on, although if I got a young one, it would probably outlast me at this age. My first pet was a cat I got from a junk yard in around 1949.

Has anyone else seen the movie "A Street Cat Named Bob"?

A Street Cat Named Bob (2016) - IMDb

Based on a true story and the real Bob did most of the scenes apparently. It was well worth the time.
