Hi everyone, it's me, Benjamin. Been a few months since I checked in here.

Today my humans got this new box for me.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1506665621.jpg

Since I got adopted in July I've settled into my new place and learned a few things from my people and big brother Chester.

The "Big Nest" is amazing!
BUT, this is Chester's place...have to be on my A game.

Taking care of the Orchard is important work. Chester is teaching me about rodent control. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1506666147.jpg

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1506666343.jpg

I really have fun climbing the tall window screens! My people get kind of upset though!?
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1506666460.jpg

Cooper911SC 09-28-2017 11:04 PM

I know Chester really loves me.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1506667061.jpg

I met the chickens too. I really like stalking them! They cluck and flap in the air when I sneak up on them!!!😸 My people don't seem pleased though?
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1506667308.jpg

There's also a new tiny human I like to check up on. He's about the same age as me, just a month or two younger. My people keep a close eye on me when I'm near him though! No snuggles!

I like to hang out with my people and the tiny human.

Sometimes I really wish I was a human too? NOT!

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1506669675.jpg

They tried that "Cats VS Cucumbers" nonsense too! Idiots used a giant Zucchini from the garden. LOL 😹 Didn't work!! Joke's on them.

Last week I caught my first squirrel!... well, my human helped a little with the .25 PCP Marauder...
These guys are fast in real life, maybe I'll catch one in "real time" some day.

Fun to play with him and dream though!

The official CAT thread

Today we said goodby[emoji22]

Today was a sad day at our household. We were forced to say goodby, goodnight and Godspeed to our little 19 1/2 year old family member, Annie.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...493fff3769.jpg

She came to us from a kitty adoption center in Moreno Valley 19 1/2 years ago. She grew up with our boys and watched them grow into young men. She outlasted five family puppers and three family kitties. They say dynamite comes in small packages and this little firecracker ruled the roost, chasing 65 lb Australian Sheppards and larger cats like nobody's business. Nobody messed with her.....well maybe except Morgan. Another big orange and white male rescue kitty who came to us after his humans decided to move away and leave him behind. He would grab her in a headlock and then roll on from side to side his back hugging her while she threw a temper tantrum, while looking at her like he was thinking..,,"yup,you love it" https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...84e53443f2.jpg

She put up with four moves, countless trips to the vet, family drama and unconditional love. In the end, her kidneys just plumb wore out. Her condition deteriorated in this past week. She was drinking lots of water but couldn't go in her litter box, went off food and was down to 3 lbs 7 oz, She was tired and essentially was just skin and bones. She was having extreme difficulty walking and couldn't support her back legs, falling over constantly. As selfish as we were being by not wanting to make that hardest of choices, we felt her quality of life was drastically declining and seemed as if she would not make it much longer. After long deliberation on what would be the best path for her, we made that difficult choice. After she fell asleep in our arms for the last time, we then took her to our parents ranch where she was placed near Morgan under a large willow tree so they can chase countless field mice together once again.

We will miss you grandmakitty, your head bumps and love bites.

Sorry for your loss, Bugs.
Almost 20 years is a great run but I know that doesn't make it any easier right now.

Exact same way my cat went at two months over 20 yrs. old. That was eleven years ago now. The scanned photo below was during her prime. Condolences to you & the family.

Thank you everyone,

The family really appreciates the kind words. Yeah, it's not easy even though we knew that's where she was headed. Still cannot shake the feeling of the ol heart being hacked/dug out of the chest with a rusty spoon. As all of you are painfully aware by the number of pics I post of our animals on the thread, our pets are family. That's how we have always been. There are the days I get home from work after dealing with the "public" and think to myself I should have become a Vet or Marine Biologist like I wanted to be growing up. They accept us for who we are.

Thanks again,
Trev "Bugs"

I was just thinking of my old cat that passed away about 10 years ago, as I'm home sick with a cold. She was the comfort kitty at times like this.

Pets are like family.

Sorry to hear about your loss.
Our 12 y.o. Tortoise Shell has recently been diagnosed with early stage kidney disease. We're hoping that with careful diet and care she'll have several more years...
We lost a cat and a dog last year. Nothing worse.
